"You meet people who forget you. You forget people you meet. But sometimes you meet those people you can't forget. Those are your 'friends'." - Martin Luther King Jr

It is always good to meet old friends after college life. When you meet them it reminds you those nostalgic moments and would definitely put up a smile on your face.
The Vidya Vardhaka Sanga had organized an Alumni meet of VCET college in Bangalore. Why Bangalore?, As many of the folks are likely to be in Silcon Valley rather in Puttur and also the stats of previous alumni meet in Puttur meant the same :).
The Function was planned to start at 11am on Sunday 7th Decemeber. The expected crowd was 150-200 alumni. I reached at 10.50 am, trying to be bit early for the function. Then, it was the same routine as before in college, we didn't start at 11am but was postponed by an hour. It happens, then too in Bangalore. Anyways, people were coming in and hence the time was utilized to chat asking more about each-others life.
Bangalore was the host - gathering around 100 VCETians, yes, it was less than expected, but still a good number for the first meet in Bangalore. Our Batch 2012 was the most represented batch with ~30 VCETians.
About 15 Lectures had come to the meet and they were of full of energy.
We had VCET's new principal Dr, Linanagouda Kulkarni, Radhakrishna Bhatka from Management and retired IAS officer V.V Bhat as our Chief Guest for the day.

Prinicipal's Talk |
As we started late, by the end of Introduction Lunch was served and it was delicious.
Afternoon, our Chief Guest's spoke about Vision and Mission of VCET for now and for coming years. It was good to know about the road map and also to understand our contribution for the same. We could see the energy that they are building up for the road-map.
Discussion Time! |
Later we had a Branch-wise discussion on how things are and how we can improvise the system. There were lots of inputs from Alumni group and they were all taken in a supportive way. Hope the college will implement these ideas/suggestion.
There were folks who volunteered to spend some time involving discussion with students as students will benefit from these.

We wound-up around 5:30pm with Goli Bajje and Tea.
I was glad to meet my batch-mates, juniors ,seniors and also lectures. We all had good conversations and will hope to keep in touch. Also the road map for VCET was inspiring and we pledge that we as an Alumni group will contribute to the overall growth. It was a good day to be remembered.
